A passing New Englander leaves us a mystery

So, Anna got tired of having me clean the white ceiling on the front porch.  She selected a blue gloss paint so that the bug dirt would not be so obvious and could be more easily cleaned.  As we are painting...a woman in an old beat up Volvo stops in front of the house.  She is wearing one of those little hats that are a cross between a sailor's cap and  Colonel Blake's fishing hat (from M*A*S*H).  There is no "hello" or introductions.  She looks at us and says in that unmistakable New England accent "You know, a blue ceiling will keep the wasps away.  Don't know why, but it does."  With that said, she drove off and has never been seen again.

We, of course, can hardly wait to see if she was correct.  Have any of you heard this story or other "New England moments?"  Contact OHNE
