We were scheduled for an auction 23 Feb. to find out what they are like. Instead we stayed home by the fireplace and decided to go the next week...you know, the week it snowed yet again. Then about fourteen other things got in the way...bottom line...still have not been to an auction in New England. What I have been doing is looking at the great website of Sprague
Auctions in Vermont. I just did not realize some of the
wonderful items that come up for bidding. Their site has pictures of the latest
items sold. Worth a look. Douglas Auctioneers is in South Deerfield, MA, and has pictures of items as well but also allows for E-BID. Yes, we know about E-Bay, but I have to tell you....if I am paying out hundreds of dollars for something called an antique, I want to at least be able to drive to the auction house and put my eyes and hands on the item first.
