3rd Floor Bathroom | The Finish

Project complete

This was the most painful and lengthy project we have ever done.  The electrician and Joe the Plumber were extremely patient with us.  What took so long was me.  With a full time job and other obligations, I kept having to put off work.  I also had to learn how to do some of the work through reading, then trial and error.  We made some poor decisions up front and that made us too cautious later with other decisions.  What can I tell you...".we have met the enemy and they are us." (refer to POGO, the old comic strip)

Still we have a new, working bathroom with shower on the third floor.  We have been told it will definitely increase the value of our house.  It also make the third floor much more comfortable since our office is located up there.  I have to tell you, my aging knees really appreciate not having to negotiate those stairs nearly as often.

The two best shots to let you see the difference.
To the left is the space we opened from a known closet and a hidden closet.  To the right, magical Joe the Plumber doing the final install of the toilet.

Would we do this again?  As we always say "Get a second job so you can afford to hire someone who actually knows what they are doing!"
